21 Day Water Challenge

Water is essential for a healthy body to function at its best, but percentages vary by gender, age and body structure. Infants and children have the highest proportion of water in their body, at up to 77%. Adipose tissue contains less water, and healthy men contain less adipose tissue, which is why healthy adult men are approximately 60% water. Due to their naturally higher amount of adipose tissue, healthy adult women are approximately 50% water.
How Much Water Is Enough?
You should consume half your body weight in ounces of water every day. Additionally, if you consume any diuretic drinks like alcohol, coffee or black tea, you should consume its equivalent in additional ounces of water. As an example, a 200 pound individual should consume 100 ounces of water each day. If that 200 pound individual also consumed 8 ounces of coffee, they should consume an additional 8 ounces of water. So, at the end of the day their total water intake should be approximately 108 ounces.
